Pri and Michael’s surprise proposal + Engagement photoshoot | Riverfront Park, Glastonbury - CT

Some stories feel extra special to tell, and Pri and Michael’s proposal is one of them.

Pri is one of my best friends, so when Michael reached out to me asking for ideas for his proposal, my heart instantly melted. I knew how meaningful this moment would be, not only for them but also for me. Without hesitation, one place came to mind: Riverfront Park in Glastonbury. It has always been a special place for Pri, full of memories and quiet beauty, so it felt like the perfect setting for such an important moment.

From that day on, we started planning everything together. We talked about the vibe, the timing, and how to make it feel natural and intimate while still being unforgettable. A week before the proposal, I went to the park to scout the area, walking through the paths, observing the light, and finding the best spots for photos. I wanted everything to feel effortless and magical when the moment finally happened.

To make sure Pri would not suspect anything, I came up with a little plan of my own. On the day of the proposal, I casually mentioned in our friends’ group chat that I was on a trip to Vermont. Since we talk every single day, it sounded completely normal, and she never questioned it. Meanwhile, I was actually on my way to the park with my husband, trying our best to stay unnoticed, hiding under scarves and hats like undercover agents.

When Pri and Michael arrived, everything fell perfectly into place. The light was soft, the park was peaceful, and the energy felt calm and warm. Then Michael took her by surprise, got down on one knee, and asked the question he had been planning for so long.

Pri was glowing. Her happiness was impossible to miss. Her emotions were pure, genuine, and beautiful. Watching one of my best friends experience such a moment was something I will never forget. Capturing it through my lens made it even more meaningful.

Moments like this are the reason I love what I do. Real love, real emotions, real stories. Pri and Michael’s proposal was not just a photo session, it was a memory that will live forever, and I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of it from the very beginning.

After the surprise and all the emotions settled in, we decided to keep the magic going with an impromptu engagement session around the park.

It was the middle of January, and the cold was definitely not playing around. The air was crisp, the ground was quiet, and Riverfront Park looked completely different from the warm seasons Pri knew so well. Even in winter, the park has a special kind of beauty. The bare trees, the soft light, and the stillness of the river created a calm and romantic atmosphere that felt almost cinematic.

Despite the freezing temperatures, Pri and Michael were unstoppable. They laughed, hugged each other, and moved naturally, completely wrapped up in their own world. We took breaks to warm up, joked about the cold, and kept going, because the energy between them was too beautiful not to capture.

Watching them together during that session made it clear that this was not just a proposal, it was the beginning of a new chapter. The cold weather could not compete with the warmth of their connection. Every photo felt honest, joyful, and full of love.

Riverfront Park gave us the perfect backdrop once again, proving that some places are special no matter the season. And even with numb fingers and red noses, we created something timeless.
